Left Chicago in a snowy apocalypse and made it to 70 degrees and sunshine! In the past, I have done this drive straight through — roughly 18 hours. Took my time this drive. It was snowy, cold and miserable for the first half of the trip, but it was all worth it.
Our first stop was the US Street Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park — which is always a great event! The kick off to drag racing season. We also stayed for Street Car Takeover which is this awesome racing event that I have been trying to come to for years — unfortunately, it had rained out on me twice and I was never able to make it. Interestingly enough — Freedom Factory is located next door to Brandenton Motorsports Park and I was able to go and check it out on the very first day they opened to the public!
Awesome experience! So great to see the next generation doing amazing things in motorsports! It really gives me hope for the future. If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop and check out Freedom Factory and Bradenton Motorsports Park if you ever get the opportunity! You won’t regret it.
