I went on a two week tour with Funny Car Chaos — and it was one of the best times of my life!  First stop was Eddyville Raceway Park in Oskaloosa, Iowa.  We spent the whole weekend there for the race and then the following weekend we had to be at Kearny Raceway Park in Kearney, Nebraska — which was roughly about a 7 hour drive.  Most of the teams decided to stay on the road and not go back home.

So — we stayed at a state park on the lake — Methodist Cove, Harlan County Lake.   It was amazing!  Full hook-ups with laundry and shower houses right on the lake for $28 a night. The sites were long and roomy, so some of the teams actually brought their entire race rigs there.  What worked out even better is one of the drivers was local and had a shop they could do maintenance to their race cars and rigs at… he also took us out on his boat.   It was so beautiful there!  There were also a number of cute boutiques and restaurants in the downtown area not to far from where we were.

Never in my life would I had pictured this being Nebraska!

Now — I have been out on plenty of boat trips before — mostly sailing boats as my Grandfather is a sailor, but never in my life have I ever been tubing or jet skiing.  And I did them both — I had a blast! I tell you what though — I paid for it the next couple days! Hahaha!  I was so sore, I felt like an old lady!

I also did a little fishing — when I say little — I literally sat out for 6 hours fishing with some of the teams trying to catch a fish and the only thing I caught was some weeds, a tree and maybe a boat, but the promoter caught a big one earlier that day!  Which was my motivation to sit out there all day to catch one too!  …Next time.

Nebraska is beautiful and I can’t wait to come back!
