While I traveled to my old stomping grounds for the Car Chix Battle of the Sexes — I stopped by to visit a few friends and family members.  I didn’t have a lot of time and man did it go fast!  I tried to see as many people as I could — but was also trying to juggle promoting/setting up for the big race, do maintenance on both my RV and trailer and run both of my businesses.  It was a lot!

Georgina & I — they had you write the name of your partner on their head without them seeing. LOL Good thing you can’t see what either one of our helmets say. HAHA!

One of the things I did get to do during my short time back home was go ziplining!  I never had been before and it was always something I wanted to do!   So, my friend Georgina and I went to Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.   They have multiple tours you can do — long and short trips.  We went for the full experience and signed up for the 9-line zipline tour that lasted for about 2 hours.

I am not going to lie — at first, I was a little nervous.  Especially as our tour guides were a little younger than us — but they rocked!!  Alex and Charlie were incredible.  They were very knowledgeable, paid attention to each of us and had a great sense of humor! After the 2nd or 3rd line, we started to get a little more comfortable with how we went about it!

This is the upside down “spidey” pose

We also meet a great young couple that came on the tour with us.  We were all strangers at first, but by the end of the tour we were all laughing and sharing stories together.  It’s the people you meet along the way that make everything just so much more incredible.

At the end of the zipline tour, Georgina and I finally had our first heads up race.  …I ended up taking the hit and she chased me down!  I had her all the way until the end when my little legs couldn’t reach the platform – hahaha!  It was an awesome time! Highly recommended!  However — be prepared to walk and go up steps.  I recall laughing and telling the guy as I was grabbing my hips and breathing heavy, “this part wasn’t in the brochure!”

During the tour, the guides take a ton of photos — so don’t worry about bringing your phone.  At the end of the tour, you go into the welcome center and can review them all and purchase them if you choose.  They also offer adult refreshments 🙂  I went with a good ole Pabst.

And as they same while in Rome…..

Well, technically while in Lake Geneva.  We couldn’t leave without visiting JB Pritzker’s mansion lake house, which is conveniently only located 6 minutes away.   One of the locals informed me that while he had all of us in Illinois under extreme Covid lock down restrictions, he walked into one of their bars in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (which lifted Covid restrictions) and the owner refused him service.  Bravo!
